3rd Annual Tumwater Community Summit: Helping Our Youth Who Are Living Without Homes

Join education, community and business leaders to discuss topics impacting the health and future of youth in the greater Tumwater area. This free event features a panel discussion, dinner, and breakout sessions.
The Community Summit features local leaders to discuss what the community is doing about youth without homes. The Summit will aim to increase understanding around youth homelessness; seek ideas for a community help network; expand resources; and build community cohesion around a common problem.
Educators, students, families and community members are invited to be a part of this special evening.
Who should attend?
Educators, business leaders, and community members who are looking to find effective approaches to solving youth homelessness are encouraged to participate in the Community Summit.
The event is free, registration is requested.

"What is the Community Doing about Youth without Homes?"
The Panel Discussion will take a dynamic look at what the community is doing about youth without homes, with opportunity for questions. The Panel features Jay Mason from the Tumwater Police Department; John Doan, Tumwater City Administrator; Derek Harris from Community Youth Services; and Trish Gregory from Family Support Center.
6:45 p.m. – Breakout Sessions
Join in a community conversation around a specific topic related to homelessness and poverty, facilitated by local leaders. Topics include: Understanding Homeless Youth, Avoiding Youth Homelessness, and Hands On - Building a Community Network: A Planning Session.
