Council Member Jefferson is a former Human Resources Senior Executive Officer with 25 years of active-duty military service. She joined the military as a Private and was promoted multiple times until she was selected for Officer Candidate School based on her exceptional leadership skills. This is a rare accomplishment for any enlisted soldier, and a benefit to the City as it looks at core challenges and opportunities for livelihood, living wages and workplace revitalization.

Why Tumwater City Council?

I know leadership/personnel management, team building and communication. When my military career came to an end, I made the decision to retire and remain in Thurston County. I fell in love with this community because of the healthy, vibrant and thriving outdoor environment. I still enjoy walking and hiking the many trails around our tri-cities. I choose Tumwater to be my forever home, because it’s a great place to live and work. We believe in community, environmental health/wellness and looking out for our neighbors. As our city continues to rapidly grow, we need a voice to meet the needs of Tumwater, I want to use my knowledge and life experience to be that voice.
