E Street Extension Corridor Study

This project includes an engineering evaluation of the proposed E Street Extension, from Capitol Boulevard to Cleveland Avenue, that is included in the Brewery Neighborhood Plan.  Work will include development of horizontal and vertical alignments, intersection layout at Capitol and at Cleveland, right-of-way plans, river and railroad crossing alternatives, access alternatives for the Brewery and LOTT properties, environmental and permitting issues, and required mitigation.

The E Street Extension feasibility study project is funded primarily through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funds.

Project Cost = $300,000

Grant Funds = $259,500

The E Street Extension (when constructed) would provide an alternate route for regional commuter traffic travelling through the Custer Way corridor to access I-5 and/or SR 101.  This shift in traffic would create the opportunity for repurposing some of the existing right-of-way that is currently used for vehicle travel lanes and using that area for bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
