Landlord – Tenant Law

Landlord-Tenant Law covers most tenants who rent a place to live in Washington State. Each tenant has the right to a livable dwelling, protection from unlawful discrimination, the right to hold the landlord liable for damage caused by the landlord’s negligence, and protection against lockouts and seizure of personal property by the landlord.

For a detailed description of the law and the responsibilities of the landlord, refer to the information provided by the Attorney General of Washington, or call 1 (800) 692-5082.

If you have a rental dispute, contact the Dispute Resolution Center of Thurston County at (360) 956-1155.
