Arbor Day Plant Giveaway

Saturday, April 18 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Tumwater Historical Park

Arbor Day, the nation’s first tree-planting holiday, was established 150 years ago. Today it is observed in all 50 states and in countries all around the world. This holiday creates a way for us to come together, celebrate trees, and teach the younger generation about the need for environmental stewardship.

The City of Tumwater Tree Board hosts an annual celebration of Arbor Day with free tree native plant species that include vine maples, crabapples, red-twig dogwoods, and Saskatoon serviceberries. This year’s Arbor Day event includes free tree-related items, activities for kids, tree planting instructions, and tree care information. There are a variety of native plants to take home and plant, supplies are limited.

For more information on the Arbor Day Celebration, please email Alyssa Jones Wood or call 360-754-4180.
