New engine delivered and 25-year replacement program is underway.

TFD-NewTruck-2A new fire engine arrived at Tumwater Fire Department Headquarters in December 2012. The engine is the first installment in the 25-year replacement schedule and maintenance program funded by the levy.

The fire engine is equipped with many emissions features for safer and cleaner operation including LED lights, clean diesel filtration, and idle reduction technology.

Firefighters and administrative staff collaborated on the engine’s design with the manufacturer in Appleton, WI, to equip the engine with features customized to meet the unique needs of the department and community.
