2018 Arbor Day Celebration

This event includes activities for kids, free tree-related give-away items, information about tree care, and instructions for planting trees.

Tumwater Tree Board provides a selection of tree species and participants may select a free seedling, while supplies last, to take home and plant.

Arbor Day

Arbor Day was first celebrated in Nebraska in 1872, when J. Sterling Morton proposed that a special day be set aside for the planting of trees. This holiday is now observed throughout the world to celebrate the many benefits of trees.
