Tumwater's Development Review Committee helps to determine feasibility of projects and outlines actions to environmental and critical area analysis and land division. Development Review

The Community Development Department's Building Division provides regulation, oversight and guidance on all jobs related to construction (renovations and new construction) to ensure they meet policies established through the Tumwater Municipal Code. The division also conducts building and fire code plan reviews and inspections.

The Tumwater Development Projects interactive map highlights public and private development projects currently underway across the city. Blue squares symbolize private development projects undertaken by private individuals or businesses on property under private control using private funds. Red symbols identify public development projects, those undertaken by the city on property under the city’s control and funded by the public. Clicking on a symbol will reveal the project's name, location, and status. This map is updated on an as-needed basis.
