Work continues on the culvert conveying Percival Creek under Sapp Road.
Completed work
- Environmental protection measures were placed to safeguard the surrounding creek and natural resources throughout construction.
- The stream was rerouted around the worksite and thousands of fish and other aquatic life was safely relocated downstream.
- The old culvert was removed and the new, much wider and larger culvert was installed.
- The inside of the culvert was filled with material that mimics the existing streambed.
Coming up next
- Construction of the retaining walls at either end of the culvert will begin in early August.
- The streambed will be reconstructed within the project limits.
- Stream access will be restored for aquatic life to pass through the culvert at the end of August.
- Crews will continue with roadway restoration, grading, and other site improvements.
