The City of Tumwater is accepting interest forms from multifamily property owners interested in installing residential Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations.
Eligible properties must have 5 or more housing units. Grant funding may cover up to 100% of eligible project costs, including design, planning, engineering and installation, with up to $12,500 per charging port.
Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-eligible basis, with priority given to properties that include affordable housing. Examples of units considered affordable include units with rents capped for affordability, units with project-based subsidies, units that rent to tenant-based housing authority provided vouchers, or units that are offered only to tenants at or below 80% area median income.
Interest forms are due by midnight on Friday, July 31, 2026. Submitting a form does not guarantee funding. Sites awarded funding can expect installation to take place between late summer 2026 and winter 2026.
