Tumwater Traffic Team
The Tumwater Traffic Team is a multidepartment team that focuses on transportation safety within the City. Members include experts from Community Development, Transportation and Engineering, Police, Fire, and the Executive Department. Solutions to traffic concerns may include enforcement, engineering, and education.

2nd & Linwood Intersection Closed

Beginning the week of April 27, the intersection of 2nd and Linwood Avenues will be closed for construction of a new roundabout. Detour routes will be in place and motorists are advised to drive carefully and allow extra time when traveling through the area. Local access will be maintained for nearby residents and businesses, though some delays may occur.
The roundabout is being constructed as part of the 2nd Avenue Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvements project. Since the project broke ground in January, crews have constructed new, accessible sidewalks and replaced outdated stormwater infrastructure along 2nd Avenue. Plans call for the new roundabout to be completed and the intersection reopened by mid-August.
The final phase of the project will entail detouring traffic off a portion of 2nd Avenue while crews repave and stripe the roadway. All scheduled road construction projects are subject to change due to weather, equipment, and project delays.
