News Releases 

The City publishes news releases with important events and information. News releases are sent to local media outlets, sent to our e-Notification subscriber list, and posted on the City's website. Media agencies may call (360) 754-4128 to request to be added to the news release list. Or Sign Up for City Hall General Alerts to receive News Releases through the City's e-Notification system.

Tumwater Police Department Call Response and Essential Services

Tumwater, WA— As part of the City of Tumwater’s response to the limit the spread of COVID-19, the Tumwater Police Department is taking proactive measures to perform essential functions –to protect and serve the public. These measures remain effective through at least March 31, 2020:

Calls for Service 

Our officers will remain active in the public and will respond in person to calls where a suspect is present or there is a current danger to people or property.

Police will respond by telephone to all calls that do not involve a suspect on-scene or a current danger to people or property. 

If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. 

For all other concerns, please call the non-emergency dispatch number (360) 704-2740.

Police Station Business Office Hours

The Tumwater Police Station will remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p..m, Monday-Friday.  When possible, we encourage the public to telephone rather than to visit in person, call (360) 754-4200.

Fingerprinting Services

Fingerprinting services at the Tumwater Police Department are temporarily suspended.  New CPL applications require fingerprints as part of the mandatory background check. 

New Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPLs)

Tumwater Police will delay processing all new CPL applications.  If you choose to submit a new application during this period, we will hold your application and contact you when fingerprinting is available.  Renewals of existing CPLs do not require fingerprints. CPL renewals will continue to be processed.
