Water
The City of Tumwater is proud to be able to serve some of the highest quality water in the nation, without the need for chemical additives.
Storm
The City of Tumwater manages all stormwater on public lands, streets, and right-of-ways. Stormwater on private property is the responsibility of the land or business owner. The City will provide technical assistance to private stormwater facility owners - free of charge - for issues surrounding maintenance, upkeep, planting, pollution, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Sanitary Sewer
Sewer service is provided to the City of Tumwater through the regional wastewater treatment facility, LOTT Wastewater Alliance.
Billing Rates
Under the inverted block rate structure, the price of water consumed will increase as more water is used. This type of a structure is sometimes referred to as a tiered or conservation rate. The following table describes the various rate blocks.

SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE:
A single-family residence is served by a 3/4" meter. Consumption volume is one thousand three hundred (1,300) cubic feet (CF). A cubic foot is approximately 7.5 gallons and the average residence uses about 900 cubic feet per month.

Multi-family and non-residential (commercial) accounts vary based on meter size and consumption. If you have questions regarding your account, please call 754-4133.
Sewer service is $36.45 per month. Tumwater retains $10.95 of the sewer charge for maintenance, operations, and debt repayment and $25.50 is passed on to the LOTT Waste Treatment Plant.
Stormwater service is $5.70 per month for a standard residential unit. Commercial charges are based upon the amount of impervious surface on-site.
All services are subject to a 6% utility tax. |
