Residential Conservation Programs

The City of Tumwater is proud to offer residents some help when it comes to conserving water in and around the home.  Stop by the Public Works Counter to receive the following offers.  There is a limit of 2 kits per household.

  • FREE Indoor Water Saving Kits - These kits contain everything you need to install water efficient devices in your home, including:
     - One new 2.5 gpm showerhead,
     - Two 1.5 gpm bathroom sink aerators,
     - One 2.2 gpm aerator for the kitchen sink,
     - Teflon tape, and
     - Toilet Leak Detector tablets.

  • FREE Outdoor Water Saving Devices - Save a little water and money this summer by using these devices:
     - Shut-off Spray Hose Nozzles - Use this fun contraption to automatically shut off the water when you are not actively using your hose.  Great for car washing and watering!
     - Rain/Irrigation Gauges - You hear us talk about your lawn needing an average of 1" of rain each week right?  Well, here is the perfect way for you to measure how much water your landscape is receiving.

  • FREE Rain Barrel Rebates - Purchase a rain barrel to collect rain water during the rainy months for use in the Spring and Summer, and receive a $10 rebate from the City.  Offer valid for the first 6 rain barrels you purchase.

  • Need a new washing machine?  For a limited time, sewer customers can receive a $100 rebate when purchasing an approved, water efficient washing machine.

Use your bill to help you determine how much water you are using and to see how your conservation measures are helping to reduce your monthly bill, while conserving the resource we all depend on!  Each water bill contains a graph showing your consumption over a 13-month period, so you will be able to see how your use changes over the year.
