Walmart Project Update - June 2010

The Walmart Company has applied for the necessary building and other permits to construct their proposed store in Tumwater. The City's review of those permits is generally complete and we expect the permits will be issued very soon. They have already paid for some of the mitigation and impact fees associated with the project. Walmart has sought bids from contractors in anticipation of starting work later this summer. The City has awarded the bid for the construction of Littlerock Road and we expect that construction to last through autumn. Walmart will be coordinating their construction with the City's road work. Walmart's continues to plan on opening in spring of next year.
