OFFICER OF THE YEAR

Officer Tygh Hollinger:

Officer Hollinger was selected by his peers within the department as the 2008 Tumwater Police Officer of the Year.  He was bestowed with this honor for his dedication to the agency, his abilities as a natural leader in the department, his compassion towards the public, excellent work ethic, solid performance, willingness to help other officers and his composure in stressful conditions. 

Officer Hollinger currently works as a patrol officer and has taken on the added responsibilities of being one of the departments Field Training Officers, Riot Control Instructor, and Active Shooter Response Instructor.  Officer Hollinger also played an important role in negotiating the police guild's most recent contract with the city. Officer Hollinger has always been seen as a team player and an asset to the community and the Tumwater Police Department.
