ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER
RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
The City of Tumwater has recently contracted with PublicSafetyTesting.com to conduct a portion of our entry-level recruitment and testing for entry-level police officer.
Basically, PublicSafetyTesting.com will conduct the written and physical agility tests and send the applicant scores to our Civil Service Commission for further processing. We will maintain the eligibility/hiring list as we have always done. PublicSafetyTesting.com does not replace any authority or responsibility of the Civil Service Commission.
Interested applicants should refer to the website www.PublicSafetyTesting.com or call toll-free 1-866-HIRE-911.
Once on the website:
- Applicants will be able to apply online with the City of Tumwater.
- Applicants will also be able to apply with other agencies that are utilizing PublicSafetyTesting.com
- Applicants will learn information about each agency, such as department & community information, salary, benefits, how many vacancies, any special requirements an agency may have, etc.
- Applicants will learn information on the written and physical agility examinations
- Applicants will be able to choose a testing date, time and location most convenient for them. Tests will be offered monthly at various locations around the state. Tests are not conducted online.
After the applicants have tested, and if they pass both the written and physical agility tests, their scores will be sent to the City of Tumwater and any other agency that they have applied with. Our Civil Service Commission will then further process these applicants. This may include inviting them to an oral board and/or other tests.
Applicants will then be placed on an eligibility list. The eligibility list is a continuous list, that is, the list itself never expires, names on the list do. Candidate scores are valid for one year on this list. If a candidate is hired by our agency (or any other agency), their name is removed from any other eligibility list that they are on through PublicSafetyTesting.com.
Any other questions about this recruitment process can be directed to the Human Resources Department of the City of Tumwater at 360-754-4122.
