TUMWATER BOARD OF PARKS COMMISSIONERS (TMC 2.72)
(RCW 35.23.170)
This board consists of seven members, serving three-year terms, who are appointed by the Mayor with confirmation of the City Council. Board members must reside within the City limits with the exception of two members who may reside in the Tumwater UGA, as defined in Ordinance No. O2007-011.
The board shall advise the City Council regarding:
- The expansion and operation of the city’s parks, recreational facilities and programs
- Control and supervision of all parks belonging to the City
- Planning, promotion, management and acquisition, construction, development, maintenance and operations, including restrictions on, and compensation to be paid for, concessions or privileges in parks and/or playgrounds
The Board of Park Commissioners is established by the authority of TMC Chapter 2.72 and RCW 35.23.170. This board meets regularly on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. |
