The City purchased the land for this park in 1987 and completed the master plan for development in 1990. Phase one of construction started in 1994 and phase two began in 1997. The City is planning on development of phase three in the summer of 2002. Phase three will include one softball field, additional parking and added trails. There will also be enhancements to the wetlands in the park and continued planting of native trees and shrubs along the Deschutes River corridor.
