Volunteer Opportunities & Events

Celebrate Earth Day 2018

Rain or shine, Earth Day and Arbor Day will be celebrated around town with a variety of events surrounding giving back to the earth. There are opportunities at two Tumwater parks to be part of a volunteer work party, or attend a family-friendly event at the Library. This year’s event lineup consists of the Earth Day Volunteer Work Party, FRESH Farm Volunteer Day, and the Arbor Day Celebration.


Earth Day Celebration: Volunteer Work Party

Tumwater Parks & Recreation is teaming up with the PARC Foundation to celebrate Earth Day with a fun and rewarding volunteer work party. 

Saturday April 21, 2018
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Tumwater Historical Park
802 Deschutes Way SW, Tumwater, WA

Help us remove invasive plants and debris at Tumwater Historical Park. Tools, gloves, water, and light refreshments will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for working outdoors. This event will be held rain or shine!

Pre-registration is required; submit completed registration form to Tumwater Parks & Recreation.

Earth Day Celebration: FRESH Farm Volunteer Day

Be a part of this energizing and productive work party to help the FRESH farm prepare for the summer season.

Saturday, April 21, 2018
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, check-in begins at 8:45 a.m.

The FRESH Farm at Isabella Bush Park
1436 Linwood Avenue SW, Tumwater, WA

Volunteers will join work teams led by FRESH students and Tumwater Rotary Club volunteers to complete the installation of the new native plant landscape, and remove invasive plants from around the farm.

Volunteers will need to bring their own equipment such as gloves and garden tools.

Register to Volunteer for FRESH and to donate your time to support our local youth at Tumwater FRESH.

Arbor Day Celebration

Celebrate Arbor Day at the Tumwater Timberland Library and includes free tree related give-away items, activities for kids, and tree planting and care information. The Tree Board provides a selection of tree species and participants may select a free seedling to take home and plant, while supplies last.
