Council/Intergovernmental Assignment: Budget Committee, Chair; Transportation Policy Board.

Areas of Special Interest: Growth-related issues; public works issues--transportation, water, sewer, stormwater.

Priorities for 2010: Making sure that new development pays its own way; continued progress paving neighborhood streets and in-filling of sidewalks in existing neighborhoods; gaining community support for improving Capitol Blvd. by making it more pedestrian and bicycle-friendly, adding landscaping and underground power; and facilitating opportunities for redevelopment of the former Olympia brewery property and Tumwater's new Town Center at the north end of the Olympia airport. Mayor Kmet states his reason for becoming Mayor is to ensure neighborhoods have a strong voice at City Hall and to encourage citizen involvement in our community.
