Tumwaters 150th Year History Book
Edited by Gayle L. Palmer
Published by the City of Tumwater, 1995
The 150-year story of Tumwater, the first American settlement on Puget Sound, Washington, is a lively history of the early pioneer settlers, Native Americans, the British-owned Hudsons Bay Company, entrepreneurs, and successful farmers. Historic photographs show how the city was shaped by early industries on the Deschutes River, by railroads, bridges, and freeways. Eight writers author the book which includes historic photographs, illustrations, and maps. Also included is a bibliography and index.
