OUTDOOR PURSUITS

Tieton Whitewater Rafting

Ride 14 miles of twisting, turning rapids through pine trees and towering cliffs.  The Tieton, located on the eastern side of White Pass along Highway 12, is a mere trickle of water during the summer months.  However, in September, when Rimrock Lake is emptied, the Tieton roars with whitewater excitement. No prior experience is necessary; however, participants need to be in average physical condition, and able to paddle with other participants and a professional river guide.  Neoprene wet suit, booties and a fantastic deli lunch are included.  Don't miss this thrilling adventure!

Skagit Eagle Watch

Nature's splendor as few have seen it.  Each winter, up to 300 bald eagles congregate in the Skagit Preserve.  These magnificent and endangered birds are accustomed to seeing only the occasional riverboat in their protected habitat, so sightings are frequent.  With wingspans of up to seven feet, the eagle is truly majestic from close range.  You'll float calmly and comfortably with other enthusiasts in astoundingly beautiful scenery, watching our national symbol feeding on the banks, soaring above or perched only a few yards away.  Guides are experienced eagle watchers.  Trip includes a fantastic spaghetti lunch.  Join us!
